WHO ARE LOUISE ET VILMORIN

Louise Et Vilmorin are storytellers and sonic explorers of human expression. These 21st-century troubadours have curated a musical experience that spans continents, blending an eclectic mix of modern jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, Russian folk, Irish traditional, flamenco, Carnatic, and gypsy styles. With lyrics in Arabic, French, Russian, and English, they invite us on a journey—a journey across continents, through stories told and untold, offering listeners a rich, musical experience that celebrates our human entanglement.

Sophie Tassignon (Louise) is a Berlin-based  vocalist, pianist and composer who is active in the European Jazz, Avant-Guard, and Electroacoustic communities. She has toured worldwide and claims 11 releases as a leader on different relevant record labels, including Clean Feed Records, A-jazz, Alone Blue Records, visionofsound, RareNoise Records, Jazzwerkstatt and W.E.R.F. Records.  Sophie is also active in modern theatre and multimedia performance, notably creating music for the productions of renowned Polish director Elzbieta Bednarska. Sophie’s latest solo album A Slender Thread is released on Nemo Records and is available now. —  Described by Yves Dorison of  CultureJazZ, A Slender Thread, is “…a sensory universe that is often hypnotic and filled with a richly imaginative, wholly original soundscapes.” (17.09.2025)  It is an intense follow up to Mysteries Unfold, her previous solo record, that showcased a layered compositional style with vocal technique. Her 2023 album Khyal (W.E.R.F.222), received two gold medals by the Global Music Awards.

Kevin Patton (Vilmorin) is a guitarist who is also a designer and electroacoustic maker. His performing and sound projects have been featured at numerous festivals around the world, most recently at Visiones Sonoras in Morelia, Mexico, the New York City Electroacoustic Improvisation Summit, and the upcoming “GuteLjaudKarte”, a series of electroacoustic concerts which happen every summer in Gotland, Sweden.
